St. Dionysious Indian Orthodox Church (SDIOC), is the first
parish in New Zealand under the Madras Diocese of the Malankara
Orthodox Syrian Church of India; under the Holy Apostolic See of
St Thomas. It was formed to bring together people with common
interest for the community’s benefit and of the New Zealand
society.

SDIOC adds value to Society by an understanding of cultures and
high level of community interaction by organizing Spiritual, cultural,
educational and sporting activities.

SDIOC provides a platform to interact with one another to keep
alive our ties with Kerala, our home land and pass on our rich
heritage and values to our younger generation.

In our multi-ethnic society, SDIOC; is the community's interface,
linking people, culture and values through Prayer, Worship &
Service

The Sunday school, Children’s Group, Students & Youth
Movement, Women’s Group, Prayer Group etc. provide the spiritual
nourishment for our faithful. These spiritual organizations are the
building blocks of our future.

Our children and youth are very active in assisting various
community charitable events.
